Safeway Bargaining Update 2-20-20
The Safeway Union Bargaining Committee and Safeway Representatives have continued negotiations for the past 3 days, February 18, 19 and 20. The Bargaining Committee reports that significant progress has been made over wages, benefits and improvements in working conditions related to contract language. Discussions will continue over the weekend between the parties in an effort to reach a tentative agreement.
As a result of the progress in contract talks the Union Bargaining Committee has cancelled the rally tomorrow, Friday February 21st. The rally was planned for the Safeway store in Campbell.
A big thanks to those who participated at the Safeway store rally in Belmont on Tuesday. Your activism in speaking out for a fair contract to reward your hard work sent a clear message to management that you are serious. Keep strong and continue to demand a fair agreement from management. Be sure to access the UFCW 5 website at www.ufcw5.org for up-to-date information on contract talks.
