All Local 5 Brothers and Sisters:

Locals 5 and 648 and our members will be exposing the Save Mart Corporations dishonest behavior in a series of actions. Save Mart walked away from a done deal to increase wages and improve health benefits for their workers, after previously agreeing!

This bad faith behavior will not go unanswered. Lucky employees have endured years of takeaways during the Save Mart Companies darkest hour during the Great Recession. Save Mart was experiencing severe financial challenges and asked their employees to help. Employees stepped up and provided over $100 million dollars in economic concessions.

They gave up vacation pay, paid holidays, reduction in wages and many more take backs too numerous to list. Lucky employees and their families suffered severe financial hardship to put Save Mart back on solid financial footing. Instead of Save Mart reciprocating their workers good will they continue to subject their employees to more financial pain.

PROTEST ACTIONS SCHEDULED

Local 5 and 648 expects to receive strike authorization from the International Union this week and will set a deadline for a new contract. In the meantime we will be engaging in protest activities beginning with the following dates, times and locations.
