Local 5’s Executive Board has unanimously elected John Frahm as the union’s President, filling the vacancy created by the death of former President John Nunes.

“While we are still mourning the loss of Brother Nunes it is critical that we work quickly to continue the important work of our union including pending contract negotiations, organizing campaigns, worksite servicing and other programs,” said Frahm, who previously served as Secretary-Treasurer. “I am humbled by the confidence the Executive Board has shown in me and I look forward to leading our great union as we deal with the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

The Board also elected previous Contra Costa County Area Director Oscar Orozco as the new Local 5 Secretary-Treasurer.
