Macy’s Bargaining Update – December 21, 2022 Unfair Labor Practice Strike Vote December 22nd
The UFCW Local 5 bargaining committee met with Macy’s representatives on Wednesday December 21st at the request of the company following Macy’s members voting to authorize a strike last week. Upon return to the bargaining table, Macy’s made minor movement to their previous offer, but well below the expectations of the Macy’s UFCW 5 membership.
The Union bargaining committee recommends rejecting the most recent offer from Macy’s and authorizing a strike. Voting will occur at the Handlery Hotel (351 Geary St.) Union Square room on December 22nd from 9 am to 7 pm. Details of the proposal will be provided. The strike would take place all day December 23rd and 24th. We encourage folks to also help make picket signs when they come to vote on the 22nd!

El comité de negociación del UFCW Local se reunió con los representantes de Macy’s el miércoles 21 de Diciembre a petición de la compañía luego de que los miembros de Macy’s votaran para autorizar una huelga la semana pasada. Al regresar a la mesa negociación, Macy’s hizo un movimiento menor a su oferta anterior, pero muy por debajo de las expectativas de los miembros de UFCW Local 5 que trabajan en Macy’s.
El comité de negociación de la Unión recomienda rechazar la oferta más reciente de Macy’s y autorizar una huelga. La votación tendrá lugar en el Hotel Handlery (351 Geary St). En el Salón Union Square el 22 de Diciembre de 9am a 7pm. Se brindarán detalles de la propuesta. La huelga se llevaría a cabo todo el día 23 y 24 de Diciembre.
