Rite Aid Bargaining Update
Representatives of UFCW Local 5 had initial meetings with Rite Aid on November 17th and 18th to discuss a new collective bargaining agreement. Local 5 presented a comprehensive proposal to the Company that covers wages, benefits, and working conditions. Local 5 stressed the burden our Rite Aid members have been under since the beginning of the pandemic as essential workers who have continued to provide exceptional customer service in an increasingly tough environment. We have additional bargaining sessions scheduled for December 9th and 14th and will update the Rite Aid membership following those bargaining sessions.
It is very important for Rite Aid workers to remain unified in our message to the company: Rite Aid needs to take care of their essential workers who came to work during one of the most trying times in recent history by offering them an agreement that takes into account the rising cost of living in California and the very real pressure workers have been under during the pandemic. Don’t fall prey to rumors during this process. If you have any questions or concerns, then please relay those to you Union Representative.
