Thousands of UFCW Local 5 members at over 150 Safeway stores from Crescent City on the Oregon border all the way to King City in Central California sent a strong message to Safeway on January 20th demanding the company come to the bargaining table and RESPECT, PROTECT, AND PAY essential grocery store workers! Safeway’s recording unprecedented profits, including an increase of cash on hand of a billion dollars over the last 12 months to raise their total cash on hand to $2.7 billion
