The Guild and workers’ fight for recognition

On October 17, 2019 workers at a dispensary called the Guild in San Jose, CA won their union election with over 64% of the vote, but because workers’ rights are not a priority of the United States, the employer was able to delay the recognition of the workers’ rights.

The “receiver” who is in charge of the Guild, decided they were going to appeal the choice of the workers all the way to the National Labor Relations Board in Washington DC. After six months of appeals, the National Board rejected the Guild’s denial of workers choice, and instead of accepting the board’s decision, management at the Guild have one last “hail mary” and are appealing to the US District Court. Workers will be successful in their fight for recognition, please sign a petition here: https://forms.gle/hed1k3ZoKdCKJJ3t9 to support the workers efforts to have a voice at work.
