SAFEWAY BARGAINING UPDATE MARCH 6, 2020 MORE DEMONSTRATIONS SCHEDULED AS BAGAINING DRAGS ON

Your Safeway Bargaining Committee met with Safeway again on Thursday March 5th, while incremental progress has been made no agreement has been made. The bargaining committee returns to the table Friday March 6th. We are determined to fight for a fair agreement.

UFCW 5 members across the local continue to show their determination to fight for a contract that reflects the cost of the Bay Area and respects the hard work UFCW 5 members do to make Safeway a good grocer.

Hundreds of UFCW members showed up yesterday in San Jose at the Almaden store, where Safeway decided to invest in machines instead of workers, to show that we aren’t going away. Because of the effectiveness of these rallies the committee is calling for more demonstrations if necessary. See below:
