Rite Aid Tentative Agreement Reached
The UFCW 5 and Rite Aid representatives have reached a tentative agreement on Wednesday February 26th. UFCW 5 will schedule meetings to explain the agreement for both the Rite Aid Clerks and Pharmacists. The dates, times and meeting locations will be announced next week. UFCW 5 will also be mailing secret ballot voting packets next week.
As UFCW 5 has previously reported, the Rite Aid Trust Fund health care plan is close to insolvency due to the lack of sufficient funding. Accordingly, UFCW 5 has negotiated a Rite Aid health plan which is identical to the current “Gold” health plan under the Trust Fund. Medical, dental and vision care is fully covered as in the Gold Plan. It will become effective March 1st so no disruption in health care coverage will be experienced by employees.
There are many new improvements that your Union bargaining committee has negotiated in the new agreement including increased wages in all classifications and making sure your pension remains fully funded.
Please make every attempt to make one of the meetings to be well informed before casting your vote.
