Hess Winery Workers Ratify New Contract
Local 5 members working at Hess Collection Vineyards in Napa Valley have unanimously ratified a new three-year contract.
The agreement provides for an immediate hourly wage increase of nearly $2 in all classifications along with a bump averaging more than sixty cents an hour in the second year. The contract will reopen in the third year for further wage rate negotiations.
Other improvements include a $1 an hour night premium, two additional days of paid bereavement leave and a new floating holiday.
Hess wines, created with UFCW-harvested grapes, can be found in many Local 5 food stores and at the Hess Collection visitor center located at 4411 Redwood Road in Napa.
