Southern California UFCW Members Reach Agreement With Rite Aid, End Boycott

Following months of failed negotiations, a consumer boycott and the threat of a strike, nearly 6000 UFCW members in Southern California have voted to accept a new contract.

The success came as a result of the willingness of members to fight and the help of consumers who observed the boycott of 357 stores according to Southern California UFCW leaders.

The agreement includes wage increases for all employees and maintains the existing union health benefit plan that the employer attempted to replace with a company-managed scheme.
