Six Flags Ride Mechanics Back to Work
Mechanics who keep the rides running at Six Flags in Vallejo are back to work just in time for the busy Summer season. Members of Machinists District Local 1596 were locked out by management a month ago. The mechanics were a newly organized unit and the company thought they could intimidate them by kicking them off the job. The mechanics stuck to their guns and with the assistance of other unions, many of whom sell Six Flag tickets, they are back to work. Turns out unsafe roller coasters are not good for business.
Six Flag tickets are once more available at the offices that sold them prior to the dispute.
