Local 5 Executive Board Approves Financial Support to UFCW Local 7 Flood Victims

In September, Colorado was hit by record amounts of rainfall generating devastating flash floods that destroyed roads and lines of communication and inundated thousands of homes, forcing people to evacuate and leaving them stranded.  It has left many of our UFCW Local 7 sisters and brothers in Colorado in immediate and significant need of assistance.  Some still struggle with damage to their homes while others have lost everything.

A fund to assist members has been set up by Local 7.   UFCW International has called upon all local unions across the U.S. and Canada to open their hearts and checkbooks and donate to the UFCW Local 7 Membership Flood Victim Hardship Fund.

Local 7 President Kim Cordova is working to ensure that all funds are targeted to where they are most needed to assist the membership.

 

On Monday, October 28th UFCW 5 Executive Board Members voted to provide a financial contribution to help our brothers and sisters in Colorado.
