House of Representatives Says No to President on Fast Track

Democrats and Republicans rebuffed the president on his demand for “fast track authority” to negotiate a trade called the Trans-Pacific Partnership.  President Obama wanted the authorization to negotiate the trade deal with no ability by congress to modify it.  Under fast track they could only vote it up or down.  This deal was proceeding like NAFTA and would have been disastrous for workers.
