Gallo Salame Workers Bargaining with Tyson
Local 5 members working at Gallo Salame in San Lorenzo are in negotiations with Tyson Foods who purchased the plant a year and a half ago. The union and company have been bargaining since last September.
Issues are down to the last few economic items but they are big ones, wages, health & welfare and pension.
Local 5 President John Nunes is leading the talks on the union side along with Gallo members Andy Chen, Linda Callopp, Louis Lau, Susanna Maciel and Adolfo Miranda. International Processing Division rep Mark Nemitz and Local 5 reps Mike Henneberry and Julian Perez are also participating.
