Congratulations to Macy’s Member Malene Allen!

Malene Allen was accepted by the UFCW International to participate in the GOLD Internship program in Washington DC!
UFCW International developed the Gold Internship in response to the of the expressed interest many young members from across the country to become more active within their local and the labor movement. These are members, like Malene who believe in the power of sticking together and want to improve workplace conditions beyond their own store or plant. UFCW has created the GOLD internship program with these members in mind.
The GOLD internship program will provide Malene with the opportunity to learn and develop new talents. The GOLD internship featured Maleneprogram will be substantive – participants will be involved with critical UFCW projects. The experience will leave GOLD internship graduates with the necessary skills to become future union leaders and activists.
The internship is a 5-week program and only 40 participants were selected in this inaugural year.
We wish Malene good luck and can’t wait to hear about her experience!
