Bay Area Reaches Historic Goal: Full Employment
In stark contrast to economic instability and layoffs in other parts of the country the Bay Area region has reached full employment. This historic achievement, not seen in generations, is evidenced every day by clogged freeways, out of control housing and rental costs, a huge building boom and rising wages.
In a study by the UCLA Anderson School of Business it is pointed out that rising wages are evident across all industries, including retail. Click here for an article on the study. Grocery and department store employers would do well to embrace this new reality. If they want a stable, experienced workforce to keep their businesses running and customers happy they’re going to have to pay for it.
